On Friday 7 November, the Master Plumbers and Gasfitters Association
of WA hit a milestone with it's 500th Plumber graduating from the
Enviro Wet Course. The MPGA have now had 500 Plumbers attend this
course since it's induction in September 2007 and have run over
39 courses to date.
The Enviro West course has been held throughout WA, in the following
regions; Esperance, Albany, Busselton, Margaret River Mandurah,
Bunbury, Northam, Geraldton, Karratha and Broome.
This innovative 1-day course is designed to provide WA plumbers
with the relevant information, knowledge and skills requried to
meet the sustainability requirements for plumbing in WA.
The course information is basded on the latest industry information
and regulatory requirements, AS 3500, Greywater and Water Services
regulations.
Key topics covered at the course are Water Efficiency, Energy Efficiency,
Greywater Reuse & Design and Rainwater Harvesting & Design.
All participants who complete the course become a "Waterwise
Plumber" and all MPGA members become an Enviro West Plumber
and are listed on the Enviro West website.
In aid of this milestone, a small presenation was made by MPGA
CEO, Murray Thomas and John Brennan of the Water Corporation. Frank
Fernancez and Ken Higgins of Tradelink were also in attendance to
show their strong support of the course. Mr Greg Thomas was announced
as our lucky 500th graduate and was presented with tickets to the
Hopman Cup, on behalf of Tradelink.
