COURSE DURATION: 400 Hours
COURSE CONTENT:
Work effectively in the plumbing and services sector
Carry out interactive workplace communication
Carry out OH&S requirements
Read plans and calculate plumbing quantities
Handle and store plumbing materials
Use plumbing hand and power tools
Carry out leveling
Mark out materials
Apply first aid in the workplace
Locate and clear blockages
Install domestic treatment plants
Install storm water and sub-soil drainage systems
Drain worksite
Install pre-fabricated inspection openings and enclosures
Install below ground sanitary drainage systems
Install on-site disposal systems
Install trench support
Carry out concreting to simple forms
COURSE CONTENT (Electives) - Must complete four (4) of the following electives
Cut and join sheet metal
Cut with oxy-LPG/acetylene
Weld using oxy-acetylene equipment
Weld using arc welding equipment
Weld polyethylene (PE) pipe using fusion method
Maintain effluent disinfection systems
Plan the layout for a residential sanitary drainage system
Collect and store roof water
Install pre-treatment facilities
Monitor machine operations
Carry out load slinging of off-site materials
Fabricate and install non-ferrous pressure piping

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL):
MPA Skills can provide RPL as any Prior Learning can result in
the awarding of credit for a unit of competency or for a whole course.
Under the guidelines for mutual recognition, any relevant competencies
achieved through previous training can be credited against our courses.
