What is it?
Try-A-Trade is an excellent opportunity to help students make an
informed decision about a career in plumbing and gasfitting or painting
and decorating. Try-A-Trade is a short practical two day hands-on
program aimed at providing stuents with some insight into plumbing
and gasfitting or painting and decorating.
Where will the program be delivered?
Try-A-Trade can be delivered at Floreffe Trade Training Centre located
at St Norbert College in Queens Park or John Forrest Secondary College
Trade Training Centre in Morley.
Who can participate?
Students in year 10.
How many can participate?
Minimum of 12 students to a maximum of 16.
What trades are available?
Plumbing and gasfitting and painting and decorating.
Who should attend?
We recommend that students are selected based on genuine interest
and aptitude.
Is there an assessment?
No, there is no formal assessment.
What will it cost?
No cost to the school or students. This programme is fully funded
by the Construction Training Fund.
Can our school do more than one program?
Yes, subject to availability.
