Australia has strict safety standards and licensing requirements associated with licensed trades. In order to carry out plumbing work in Western Australia a person must hold the appropriate license issued by the Plumbers Licensing Board in Western Australia (PLB). https://www.commerce.wa.gov.au/building-commission/plumbers-licensing-overview.
Plumbers who were trained outside Australia are required to demonstrate they have the skills and knowledge necessary to be granted a licence. In Western Australia, the standard applied to assess the skills and knowledge of the applicant is an Australian training package qualification CPC32413 Certificate III in Plumbing.
The CPC32413 Certificate III in Plumbing for migrant plumbers is delivered via the Introduction to Western Australian Plumbing Standards course, the process is part Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), Australian content training with a capstone evaluation.
Course Details and Pre-requisites
To undertake the Introduction to Western Australian Plumbing Standards course, migrant plumbing applicants are required to read the course outline to ensure they meet the Pre-Requisites for this course.

- Meet pre requisites outlined on the enrolment form
- Create your Unique Student Identifier Number (USI)
- Complete the above enrolment form

- Please state Introduction to WA Plumbing Standards in the subject line of your email.
Your enrolment form will be processed within two weeks of receipt of your application; you will then receive either a confirmation email confirming your booking or an outline of further evidence required. Students will be invoiced 2 weeks prior to the course commencement. Payment must be made prior to attending any MPA skills courses.
